Kriti Sanon’s Mimi Leaked Online Days Before Scheduled Release; Now Streaming On Netflix
Producers Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Jio Studios and Netflix were in for a shock on July 26. Their big July 30 release - the Kriti Sanon-Pankaj Tripathi dramedy Mimi - was out on an app on July 26, four days ahead of the scheduled release date.

Without wasting time, Dinesh Vijan decided to release the film on the evening of July 26 - also Kriti's birthday eve - rather than wait for July 30.

The official reason given for the hurried release was Kriti Sanon’s birthday (July 27).

"We were as surprised by the decision as everyone else. This was quick damage control after our film was pirated," an actor from the movie tells me.

Apart from Kriti Sanon, Mimi is headlined by Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar. It is also ably supported by stellar performances by Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak.

"Bolstered by Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi’s feisty performances, the film succeeds in drawing us into its far-from-logical plot and keeping us engaged even when the characters start behaving as if they had just seen Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki in a loop," I have written in my review, and have given it three stars.

Mimi is now streaming on Netflix.
